SGA Security Uganda Limited is one of the leading and most innovative organizations in the security industry. The company has realized the need to recruit competent persons in the following position to be based at its head office in Kampala.

Position: National Guarding Manager

Purpose of Position:
To maintain an efficient and effective management of all aspects of physical security and provide a professional interface with the public ensuring that protections are in place and business is properly and appropriately secured.

Key Performance Areas:

• Manage a well maintained physical security at all sites
•  Manage and provide effective leadership to the existing security team
• Develop a clear staff training program for the department and ensure that knowledge is tested several times per year as per laid down procedures
• Manage, Audit and maintain compliance at all sites;
• Ensure that all business recovery/contingency plans held within the company are always kept up to date

Experience

• Substantial physical security management experience gained through working in a related Security Industry
•  Enthusiastic and committed approach with a track reward of building strong trusted base relationship with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
•  A sound working knowledge of security best practice and legislation affecting the security role -Experience in developing working administrative systems for a department
• Building a strong security management system
• Experienced negotiator
• Experienced at preparing and managing budgets
• Thorough knowledge of physical security is an added advantage

Skills & Abilities

• Strong management and leadership skills together with excellent communication, influencing, negotiating and engagement skills
• Sound judgment and decision making skills with hands on problem solving approach, able to remain calm under pressure and take control of incidents.
• Ability to organize a demanding workload and work within tight deadlines
•  Ability to work as part Of a team as well as independently
• Ability of writing procedures, drafting reports, preparing business cases and compiling and adjusting duty rosters to meet short fails in staffing levels

Minimum qualification

• A bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, public administration and or related field.
• Special training program in senior security management is an added advantage
• Minimum of 8 years‘ experience in physical security management and or as operations manager guarding in a reputable security firm.
