JOB DETAILS:
The Hunger Project — Uganda (THP-U) is part of the Global Hunger Project. THP has been implementing integrated Gender Focused Community Led Development (GFCLD) programs since 1999, and so far, has presence in 10 districts in Uganda; in which TH PU has empowered 12 clusters of rural communities! villages known as Epicenters to end their own hunger and poverty through the Epicenter strategy. The epicenters are located in the districts of lganga, Kiboga, Kiruhura, Mbarara, Mbale, Mpigi, Butambala, Wakiso, Kyankwanzi and in 2019, THP-U commenced programme operations in Druka epicenter Nwoya District.
Right2Grow Project:
The Hunger Project, World ‘vision, Action Against Hunger, Save the Children, CEGAA a (South African based Centre for Economic Governance and Accountability in Africa and Max Foundation (Dutch based organizations] teamed up into the Right 2 Grow consortium and applied for Dutch funding under the power of voices funding stream.
ln Uganda the grant is implemented by The Hunger Project Uganda as a lead partner, World Vision Uganda, Action Against Hunger and CEGAA in collaboration with local partners. The Right2Grow Consortium in Uganda is a mix of lntemational, National and Local Civil Society Organisation and platforms with various expertise in nutrition and WASH advocacy, budget tracking and monitoring, and community-led development. The consortium members make use of promising practices to ensure government decision- makers and other key stakeholders can effectively address undernutrition in a multi-sectoral, gender-sensitive and inclusive way. The Hunger Project Uganda will lead implementation of Right2Grow programme in the Districts of Kabale, Maracha, Nwoya and Bugweri.
Right2Grow dream is for every child to be able to reach full potential; and no children under 5 are undernourished (aligned to SDG 2.2). The project aims at strengthening civil society to advocate for an enabling environment to tackle stunting reduction for children under 5 in Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Mali, South Sudan and Uganda.
The Hunger Project Uganda is looking for qualified and experienced people to join the exciting Right2Grow Uganda consortium team by applying for the following job openings;

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Implementation
• Implement all planned project activities with expertise and in a manner that leads to attainment of Right2Grow programme goal and outcomes.
• Conduct capacity assessments for National CSO partners and CBOs in areas of Nutrition and Wash
• Organize a nutrition and multi-stakeholder consultative meetings on key WASH and nutrition integrated messages
• Regularly develop and share monthly activity plans and concepts with the Consortium coordinator
• Ensure 100% implementation of the planned project activities on a monthly basis and that budgets are not under and over spent.
• Develop activity and budget tracking tool, and use on a monthly basis to track and report on activity and budget management.
• Conduct a scoping study on existing innovative and sensitive product models on food, nutrition and WASH.
• Conduct a scoping study on existing innovative and sensitive product models on food, nutrition and WASH.
• Carry out a capacity needs assessment to track, analyze and report on allocation and expenditure of nutrition, food security and WASH sectors
• Orient the CBOs and CSO leaders and District Nutrition Coordination Committees (DOC) on the Budget cycle
• Train a selected number of CSOs and CBOs representatives and the District nutrition Coordination Committees on budget tracking
• Map out nutrition and WASH actors at national and district levels.
• Conduct a planning session tor the platform to define its agenda and key actions
• Conduct consultative meetings in the target districts on the challenges of preventing under nutrition.
• Conduct a functionality assessment for District Nutrition Coordination Committees in the targeted districts
Documentation, Reporting and Knowledge Management
• Map out public health facilities in the 4 THP-U Districts, target sub counties and document their profiles
• Mobilize leaders of CBOs, CSOs and community structures and orient them in social accountability using Vision Commitment and Action {VGA} and Citizen Voice and Action (OVA)
• Select a gender sensitive and inclusive working team and train them in OVA and VOA practices, including nutrition services delivery standards.
• Participate in the review of annual donor country strategies and budgets for integration and alignment of food, nutrition and WASH.
• Organize dissemination workshops at the target districts on issues of food, nutrition and WASH.
Qualifications, Education and Experience
• Minimum of a Bachelor Degree of Science in Human Nutrition and Dietetics or related qualifications is required. Postgraduate training in Water and sanitation is added advantage.
• 3 years’ experience in implementing a Nutrition, Livelihood I WASH projects with a bias in nutrition.
• Experience in managing multi sectoral programs, especially in areas of livelihoods, Health, WASH and Nutrition and proven experience in leading teams and dealing with various project stakeholders.
• Good understanding of social cultural norms, gender equity, Community Led Development (OLD) approaches and experience in community mobilization is an added advantage.
Skills:
• Strong Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English
• Integrity and pride in excellent perlom1ance.
• Knowledge in documentation and communication using social media platforms
• Flexibility and willingness to fulfill any tasks as required
• Writing, reporting skills, networking and influencing skills
