THE OPPORTUNITY
The Vendor Management Partner’s key responsibilities include vendor selection, onboarding, contract management, performance monitoring, risk management, relationship building, cost management, and continuous improvement. The role will ensure vendors meet quality, compliance, and performance standards, negotiate contracts, establish performance metrics, and develop risk mitigation strategies. He/She will maintain relationships with vendors and facilitate effective communication while minimizing risks and costs. He/She will also keep accurate records and provide reports to the Vendor Management Lead, continually seeking process improvements to enhance vendor management efficiency.
Report to: Lead, Vendor Management Office.
- Vendor Sourcing & Selection: Leverage knowledge of the foundation’s strategic and day-to-day needs as well as the current technology landscape to source new technology vendors which best fit the foundation’s needs. Refine and execute the selection process for new vendors, from the creation of RFPs and assessment criteria to the effective communication of outcomes to vendors.
- Contract Negotiation and Dispute Resolution: Utilize robust mechanisms for contract negotiation and dispute resolution throughout the vendor lifecycle to guide vendor engagements.
- Vendor Reporting Frameworks: Utilize comprehensive technology vendor performance management and reporting frameworks and processes, which are fit-for-purpose and in line with industry best practice.
- Vendor Performance Management: Oversee the work of vendors contracted to the Mastercard Foundation during their contracted period, evaluating their delivery in line with contractual obligations and predetermined performance metrics.
- Vendor Risk Management: Collaborate with the DDIT Risk and Governance team to ensure that vendors are compliant with foundation policies and risk frameworks and contribute to risk mitigation efforts as required.
- Relationship Management: Manage relationships with vendors during their contracted period and collaborating with other DDIT stakeholders such as the Digital and Technology, Cybersecurity, and Business Partnering teams to resolve operational issues promptly.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Ensure effective collaboration between Vendor Managers, Project Managers, Technical teams, and Business Partners to drive the vendor management process effectively.
Reporting & Communication
- Regularly update the Vendor Management Office Lead on vendor management initiatives status.
- Collaboration with Relevant Teams: Work with the foundation’s Procurement, Contracting and Legal functions to ensure adherence to enterprise-wide vendor frameworks and policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree qualification.
- 3+ years of experience in an IT or vendor management related role. Further professional qualifications preferable.
- Comfortable working within culturally diverse teams, preferably within an NGO or large international organization. Leadership experience preferable.
- Good awareness of the contemporary technology vendor landscape.
- Good understanding of contemporary digital landscapes and some experience working with high-level stakeholders within this field.
- Highly organized and able to prioritize and work to deadlines, adapting to shifting priorities.
- Good communicator and influencer, able to engage effectively with stakeholders at senior management through to technical staff and other functions within the foundation.
- Possesses professional maturity, sensitivity to different cultures, and impeccable integrity that exemplify the foundation’s values.
- Demonstrates a commitment to the Mastercard Foundation’s values and vision.
