JOB DETAILS:
3. Pharmacy Dispenser
Reports to: Pharmacist

Qualification:
Diploma in Pharmacy.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a busy medical related environment and certified by relevant bodyrassociation. Should be aged 25-30 years.

Duties

•  Make list of the drugs required in the tacility (Pharmacy).
  
•  Make accurate dispensing of drugs to patients
  
•  Clearly explain to patients how to administer the prescribed drugs and counseling where necessary.
  
•  verify that patients are not allergic to the drugs being dispensed.
  
•  Avail drug information to patients
  
•  Enter receipts into the system
  
•  Advise the procurement staff on drug-related issues i.e. [fast moving] a drug that is frequently prescribed but not on shelve.
  
•  Make a monthly stock report of drugs to the Administration Manager
  
•  Make a list of dispensing drugs with short expiry date and dispense FIFU (First —in first out)
  
•  Cross -check expiry of drugs before they are dispensed. Involvement in stock taking
  
•  Updating classified drug book and prescription book.
  
•  Perform any other duties as assigned by management
  
•  Requesting drugs and consumables from the store I pharmacy — ensuring the working areas are well stocked on every shift and that all drugs have not expired
  
•  Ensuring the pharmacy station and areas are clean and tidy at all times
  
•  Ensure all equipment within the department is in proper working condition, e.g. Thermometer and report any discrepancies.
  
•  Ensure all counters are dump dusted.
  
•  Ensure smooth running ot the pharmacy as a whole..
