1) JOB TITLE: Principal, School of Nursing and Midwifery

JOB PURPOSE:
To manage and provide technical guidance Leadership and management in the academic and administrative programmes of the school
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB:
Preparing lectures, teach and assess students on specific course units of study; ensuring effective performance and strategic planning, budgeting and accountability of activities and resources of the school, Providing technical leadership and management of the Academic team through guiding, coordinating and determining the educational plans and Programmes in line with the policies and guidelines of the college and Government, guiding, counselling students and ensures discipline among students: participates in supervising students field work and research projects; Participates in both internal and external/national examinations activities, Planning and setting performance strategies for e School, Increase public awareness and advocacy of e College and its activities, Proposes and participates in development and mobilization of resources for the college, Performing any other duties as may be assigned by the immediate Supervisor QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of a Degree to (i) EITHER Midwifery or Nursing, but with a Degree or Diploma to Medical Education or Health Professions Education or Health Tutorship, (ii) OR: Medical Education with a Diploma or Certificate to Nursing or Midwifery or both at Registration level The above qualifications must be from recognized and accredited institution (s) of higher teaming. The education/tutorship qualification must be recognized by the Uganda Ministry of Education and Sports All the applicants must have a valid practicing license issued by the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council (UNMC), with all the above mentioned qualifications registered/or certified by the UNMC
• A qualification and experience |n management is an added advantage Six(6) years of continuous working Experience in a reputable Educational or Health institution with at least 3 years at a position of Senior Management or Head of Department/Director of Studies/Registrar and above
