The Insurance Institute of Uqanda (IIU) is the training arm of the Insurance industry in Uganda, licensed by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE). IIU seeks to recruit a qualified and competent candidate for the job of Procurement Officer.

JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for procurement and disposal of assets and services. Ensure compliance with the PPDA Act and Regulation, to achieve value for money and high stakeholder satisfaction. .

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop appropriate svstems, procedures and guidelines tor the Procurement Unit and the procurement Committee.
• Prepare the annual procurement master plan and participate in the annual expenditure budgeting process for all shared services and items.
• Liaise with the Accounts Department to ensure availability of procurement funds and timelv payments to suppliers.
• Guide the suppliers on procurement procedures lor the Corporation including; sourcing out for suppliers, coordinating and facilitating the bidding process and drafting contracts and terms of reference for suppliers.
• Compile procurement reports to Procurement Committee and support Internal Audit in verification of procurement documentation.
• Ensure that the necessarv procurement documentation is in place, verilied and properlv utilized including providing timelv advice to the relevant Management and Committees on all matters pertaining to procurement.
• Review usage and expenditure on the large expenditure items with a view of identifying areas of cost reductions andfor service improvements.
• Supervise the preparation and recommendations oi Contracts and Evaluation Committees Schedulesiiprocesses.
• Maintenance of a prequalified list of suppliers for a specified period.
• Manage pre-bid meetings, bid closing and bid opening and prepare monthly reports for submission to PPDA.
• Perform any other duties as may he assigned by Management.

REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education Qualification: Bachelor of Procurement or BBAi'BCol\il (procurement) CIPS

Work Experience
• A minimum of 3 years relevant working experience.
• Prciyen knowledge and experience in PPDA procurement, the PPMS (procurement performance management system)
• Experience in contractfpurchase order management and administration, F-‘roven experience in using office support systems
