Hanns R. Neumann Stiftung Africa is part of the Germany based foundation “Hanns R. Neumann Stiftung" (HRNS), a not-for-profit organization established in 2005. With the objective of promoting sustainable development, HRNS implements hands-on projects to improve working and living conditions of small-scale coffee farmers. lts activities concentrate on the economic and social development of producer communities by enhancing their competitiveness, forming and strengthening farmer organizations, creating better market linkages and promoting access to important support services, while at the same time promoting sustainable coffee farming and long-term use of natural resources.

For a new USAID funded program addressing climate ; change adaptation in coffee production, HRNS AF is i recruiting for the following positions:

1. Program Manager
Function:
The Program Manager, being responsible for the overall performance of the program, will:

  • Plan and supervise program activities
  • Manage the program budget
  • Coach program staff and monitor their performance
  • Organize and conduct stakeholder meetings
  • Produce progress reports
  • Develop a network with other climate change practitioners
  • Report to the General Manager of Hanns R. Neumann Stiftung Africa

Required Skills:

  • Education at least to Bachelor Degree level (preferably Master) in agriculture, environmental sciences or similar discipline
  • Expert knowledge in sustainable farming systems and environmental/biodiversity conservation with a minimum of 7 years of solid employment record
  • Experience in coffee production and in climate change adaptation would be a strong advantage
  • Highly self motivated and disciplined with excellent communication skills both orally and in writing
  • Strong management and personnel skills
