JOB DETAILS:
The organization seeks to recruit a Programme Area Coordinator for the Eastern Region. The region has project areas in greater Mbale, Sironko and Kaberamaido.

Job Description Scope:
Share an Opportunity (SAO) Uganda is a Christian child centered Non-government organization. It envisions a holistically developed child within the community. The organization is seeking a dynamic and self-motivated individual for the position of Programme Area Coordinator Eastern Region to be based in Kaberamaido. The ideal candidate should have worked at least as a middle Manager or Programme Coordinator for not less than four years. He/she should be familiar with Children and Youth programming, disability inclusion, economic empowerment, community development, education, women`s empowerment environmental management and other related technical sectors.

The Programme Area Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that project teams are supported to carry out their planning, implementation, reporting and learning on time.
This position will be based in Kaberamaido but will require frequent travel to other project areas in the region specifically in Mbale and Sironko. The Programme Area Coordinator will report to the Programmes Manager.

Summary of Key Roles for the Position
Roles and Responsibilities

• Facilitate the effective management of programs according to Share An Opportunity Uganda’s standards.
• Support planning and coordination of the programmes and their activities and guide project teams on how to carry out operational duties.
• Ensure implementation of organizational policies and practices.
• Submit accurate and timely reports and documentations to the Programmes Manager.
• Manage communications with stakeholders with support from National office
• Help build positive relations within the team and external parties.
• Keep updated records and create reports or proposals.
• Support growth and program development
• Supervise the programmes’ staff
• Schedule program work, oversee daily operations, coordinate the activities of the programmes and set priorities for managing the programmes.
• Prepare or assist in the preparation of grant requests and funding continuation from external sponsors.
• Ensure that that all staff and communities under your supervision are protected from sexual exploitation and abuse and sexual harassment.
• Spearhead the spiritual growth of the project teams.
Administrative and Financial Management of the Program
• Participate in creating the budget for programs in consultation with the Programmes Manager
• Participate in monitoring and managing program expenditures.
• Participate in the concepts and proposal development in liaison with the programmes manager.
• Submit well laid out reports in accordance to the organizational report frameworks.
• Actively participate in team meetings, professional development activities and other organization activities.

Qualifications
Education:
• A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Development studies and Programme Development with at least three years of relevant professional work experience.

Experience:
• Minimum of four years’ experience in either an international or National NGO in similar role/with similar responsibilities.
• Demonstrated understanding of working with children and youth.
• Demonstrated understanding of working with community groups.
• Demonstrated experience in staff supervision.
• Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation methodologies, including logical models, conceptual frameworks, and assessment/evaluation.
• Demonstrated experience of implementing beneficiary complaint and feedback mechanisms.
• Demonstrated experience of working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Effective, high-quality communication, writing, and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Capacity to work efficiently within a multidisciplinary team.
• The job holder must be a hardworking, spiritually mature born again Christian, focused and trustworthy individual that upholds a high sense of integrity and accountability and commitment to the vision, mission, values and aspirations of SAO Uganda
