JOB DETAILS:
African Institute for Capacity Development ( AICAD ) is a regional international institution whose main mandate is poverty reduction through human resource capacity development. The institute is jointly funded by the governments of Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. The AICAD Head Office is located in Juja Kenya.

AICAD has country offices in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda located at Egerton University, Nakuru, Sokoine University of Agriculture, Morogoro, and Makerere University in Kampala, respectively. AICAD hereby invites applications from qualified nationals of Uganda, who are competent, proactive and self-driven professionals to work in AICAD Country Office in Uganda, located at Makerere University, Kampala to immediately fill the position below:

Position: Programme Officer
Duty Station: Uganda Country Office, Makerere University, Kampala

Key duties and responsibilities include:
Answerable to the Country Director with close supervision of the Assistant Country Director, the Programme Officer will be responsible tor: planning and implementing country programme activities in the line with programme activities in the country-office carrying out monitoring and evaluation of country programmes based on the set criteria; prepare detailed periodic reports on programme activities in the country on behalf of the Secretariat; planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of research projects, training and information networking; undertake various types of duties related to research and development, training and extension and information networking and documentation on behalf of the secretariat; disseminate skills and knowledge oi the AICAD Ex-trainees to the local communities; undertaking any other duties as may be assigned by the Country Director or his/her assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:
Should have a Degree in Business Administration with at least six years’ experience in programme planning, execution and logistics management in the development sector, must be computer literate and fluent in English. Previous experience working with a Regional International Organization will be highly considered. Experience in research, training and extension and; strategic planning will be an added advantage. Applicants must be between 35 - 50 years of age.
