Job details:
Our client, the Embassy of Sweden in Kampala, Uganda is seeking to recruit a Programme Officer. at the Development corporation Section. The successful candidate will be responsible for the portfolio in renewable energy, ICT and innovations. Hel she will also lead the work on catalytic and innovative financing solutions - including guarantees, development loans, challenge funds, and crowd funding - to mobilize private investments to achieve development objectives in Uganda.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Management of development cooperation projects/programmes including preparation, risk analysis, performance review, financial monitoring and managing audit processes for the programmes;
• Act as the focal point for innovative financing solutions for the country programme;
• Prepare and submit reports in his/her area of responsibility; and
• Participate in trade promotion activities.

Minimum qualifications, experience, knowledge and skills
The ideal candidate should possess;

• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Commerce or a related field;
• Postgraduate certification in Finance, Accounting, Renewable Energy
• Management and Funding or any related course;
• At least 7 years of demonstrable relevant professional experience of managing programmes in the area of renewable energy.
• Documented knowledge and experience of designing commercial financial solutions and guarantees;
• Documented experience of working with the private sector. Documented experience of managing projects/programmes, including financial matters;
• Good knowledge of innovation systems;
• Strong and demonstrable analytical capacity;
• Excellent written and oral communication skills;
• Good interpersonal skills and experience of working in a multicultural environment;
• Ability to adhere to rules, regulations and values of the Embassy of Sweden; and
•  Experience with women’s economic empowerment is an added advantage.
