JOB DETAILS:
The Joint Clinical Research Centre (JCRC) is an indigenous medical organization that was established in 1991 as a Limited Liability not-for-profit Joint-venture between the Uganda Ministry of Health (MoH), Ministry of Defense and Makerere University Medical School (now Makerere College of Health Sciences). The Centre was established to respond and provide a scientific approach to the national HIV & AIDS challenge.
JCRC is implementing a 5 year USAID LOCAL PARTNER HEALTH SERVICES-KIGEZI ACTIVITY project as prime in the six districts of Kigezi and is now in the 1st year of implementation.
A vacancy at JCRC exist for a well-qualified and experienced person to be filled as indicated below
Job Title: Project Director
Reports to: Executive Director
Supervises: Technical Director, M&E Director,
Director Financial Management & Operations
Duty Station: Kabale
Job Background and Summary: The Project Director will have overall responsibility for leadership and management of the USAID Local Partner Health Services-Kigezi project and reporting of project activities. S/he will be responsible for making key decisions and solving problems in short timeframes while ensuring operational and project technical quality and integrity. S/he will serve as the project's main point of contact with USAID, MoH, JCRC, DHT and other relevant stakeholders on routine and strategic matters. She will also ensure effective organizational management, collaboration and communication with the partners and host MoH structures.
