PROJECT SUMMARY
NAI is currently implementing the USAID-funded Uganda Domestic Revenue Mobilization for Development Activity. The success of the Activity in delivering superior client service depends on the quality and performance of its staff members. The Program presently implements the direct management of its administration through the Finance and Administration team. The accountant will assist the Director of Finance and Administration with processing of payments, tracking partner and grantees accountabilities, tracking, and clearing staff advances. ‘Clients’ are primarily the staff members.
The position demands that the ‘clients’ interest and indeed the Activity’s interests are placed above all other considerations.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
Driver is primarily responsible for, but is not limited to, the efficient and satisfactory provision of driving services to the USAID/Domestic Revenue Mobilization for Development (DRM4D) Activity. The position requires a high degree of confidentiality in dealing with staff matters.

REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION
Required: Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education

REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
Required: A minimum of at least five years’ working experience as a Driver in a busy office.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Capacity to deal with multiple tasks, be able to adhere to tight deadlines in a busy environment, and excellent time management skills,
Sound knowledge of and experience in defensive driving,
Excellent oral and written communication skills and fluency in English

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Driving vehicles and carrying out minor repairs and maintenance of vehicles.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Driving Project Vehicles
1. Transport staff, official passengers, assets, and other materials in a safe manner and report to supervisor on return.
2. Ensure the safe custody of all vehicles assigned and driven.
3. Ensure the regular recording of all trips made, and the endorsement of passengers (if any) or authorizing officer in the vehicle logbook.
4. Report any vehicle damages or faults in a timely manner.
5. Ensure the timely and proper repairs, service, and maintenance of the vehicles assigned in an efficient manner.
6. Check and provide regular reports/endorsements on vehicle repairs, service, and maintenance undertaken by the authorized vehicle repair vendors.
7. Provide information or clarification (where necessary) to the Operations Officer in the preparation of the monthly vehicle fuel consumption report and monthly vehicle maintenance and repair report.
8. Ensure vehicles have parking tickets/coupons.
