War-Child Holland (WCH) is an international non-governmental organization investing in a peaceful future for children and young people affected by armed conflict. Since 2004 War Child Holland has been working in Uganda particularly in Acholi and Lango sub-regions. The main objective of the project is to create a supportive and creative environment for conflict affected children, youth and their caregivers,

Key functions

• Plan, organize, conduct and document creative life skills sessions for children, youth and caregivers in cooperation with facilitators according to the War Child Holland methodology.
  
• To coach, mentor and supervise the facilitators in order to achieve quality project goals and objectives.
  
• Identifies beneficiaries, including referral, int close cooperation with Facilitators and Program Development Advisor.
  
• Prepares and spear-heads the implementation of plans for project activities and ensures quality and timely reporting.

Qualifications and competencies

• A minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Community Development, Social Work or any related field
  
• At least 3 years of working experience with an INGO in Psycho Social Support areas
  
• Should be able speak and write English and be able to speak one of the local languages: (Kakwa, Arabic, Madi and Acholi)
  
• Experience with and/or strong understanding of Child Protection programs, Youth programs and/or Life Skills programs;
  
• Strong social and communication skills for coaching and mentoring; and for liaising with external stakeholders;
  
• Good understanding of broader development themes such as Protection, Gender, SRH, livelihoods and child rights;
  
• Knowledgeable and understanding of the dynamics in context, politics and culture of The West Nile Region of Uganda and within the refugee settlements.
