Job Title: Projects Team Lead
Reporting to: Chief Operations and Research Officer
Duty Station: Kampala-Uganda
Job Type: Full time
Job purpose
The incumbent will serve as the Projects Implementation Lead for the Medical Concierge Group/Rocket Health. The individual will serve under the immediate supervision of the Chief Operations and Research Officer.
Duties and responsibilities
• Coordination with management in determining grants and contractual opportunity priorities and developing the projects roadmap within the digital health area.
• Development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of public health projects.
• Supervise staff to complete projects within deadlines developing appropriate solutions to arising challenges.
• Tracking progress of ongoing projects and periodically report to management and sponsors as per sponsor requirements.
• Working with finance and management in preparation of budgets and schedules for project works budgets.
• Working with the finance teams to effectively monitor and control expenses within allotted budgets.
• Working with internal teams to build capacity through CMEs, grant writing, lobbying and networking.
• Development, submission and implementation of grant proposals.
• Development & implementation of Quality Management Plan.
• Presentations at stakeholder meetings (oral and/or poster).
• Mentoring staff in grant proposal development, writing and presentation at stakeholder meetings.
• Staying abreast with latest developments in digital health field/landscape.
• Ensuring that projects work deliverables meet quality standards and business requirements.
• Work closely with and communicate management decisions to key projects stakeholders.
• Any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant Health Sciences field.
• Master’s degree in Public health, Epidemiology, or a Post graduate diploma in Project Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation or another related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of post-qualification project implementation experience.
• Experience in working with developmental partners and consortia led projects.
• Demonstrable experience with successful grant writing skills
• Knowledge of the principles and strategies in research quality control and quality assurance.
• Strong leadership, communication and writing skills.
• Good interpersonal skills
• Fluency in verbal and written English
Other Required trainings, Job Skills and person specifications
• Training in Ethics and or Gender
• Biostatistics and or Data management
• Knowledge of International and Ugandan Regulatory Procedures.
• Knowledge and experience of Digital tools implementation in the health domains.
• Experience in budget development, review and tracking of expenses.
• Experience in the delivery and/or participation of continuing education sessions
• Experience and knowledge in grants proposal writing.
• PHYSICAL ABILITY: The ability to travel within the work sites including TMCG, Kampala as well as field sites across the country.
