Oxfam in Uganda is looking for competent person to join our dynamic, innovative and committed team in the following position:
Public Health Promotion Assistant
The primary responsibility of this position is to work with the Public Health Promotion team in the implementation of emergency water supply, sanitation interventions and be responsible for the promotion of safe hygiene practices and community mobilization ensuring full participation by the community in all activities, and targeting PSNs for WASH NFI Cash distributions. .

This position will require a range of skills and experience including
• Diploma in Public Health, Social Sciences, Environmental Health Sciences, Community development or any other relevant field;
• At least 1 year practical experience in community health and environmental programmes, preferably in emergency refugee programmes;
• At least one year practical experience in community mobilization and appropriate community health and sanitation programmes in humanitarian context,
• Practical experience of hygiene promotion, good understanding of the health and hygiene risks of those affected or at risk of contracting Cholera and urban communities and of appropriate ways of tackling them.
• Awareness of and sensitivity to the needs of women in this context. Interpersonal, communication and team skills.
• Capacity and desire to share/pass skills and willingness to work in collaboration with others and respectful to the community.
• Ability to speak the local languages is an added advantage.
