Job Summary;
Within the framework of the business objectives of laboratory test, methods and equipment, data analysis and report generation, the primary purpose of the role is ensuring products conformity and optimization in respect to the national standards/ISO and customer needs as well as laboratory management. The incumbent is tasked with ensuring the accuracy, precision and reliability

Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Directly oversee the safety of own and site employees plus contractors
• Implements Quality assurance operations and ensures product conformance within set internal and external standards.
• Ensure precision and accuracy for all Primary tests and mechanical tests on specimens presented to the lab and ensure accurate records keeping.
• Carries out routine equipment checks and calibration.
• Ensures that all consumables for use in the laboratory are replenished and stocked.
• Prepares and oversees annual equipment verification and certification by both UNBS and external verification bodies.
• Generates monthly quality reports
• Ensure implementation of Lafarge Quality Technical Standards (LQTS) in all laboratories. All laboratories must be 100% LQTS compliant
• Ensures compliance to Technical Certification and Regulation environment.
• Implements Quality Manual and Quality Procedures.
• Manages and ensures product conformance and customer satisfaction through implementation of set out product quality indicators.
• Management of new products development and improvement of current product portfolio.
• Communicate company initiatives and pursues best practices. Identifies under- performance and establishes corrective action

Required Qualifications skills and attributes.
• Degree in Industrial chemical engineering or general engineering with chemical engineering as the main subject
• Must have 3-5 years’ experience in a related function in a busy manufacturing industry and with management related qualification or exposure.
• Good computer knowledge
• Must have knowledge in ISO 9001:2015 and ISO/IEC 17025:2017
• Good knowledge of cement manufacturing processes: raw meal preparation, burning, air flow, combustion and grinding
• Good knowledge of physico-chemical characteristics of products, of parameters and standards applied to cement manufacturing
• Good knowledge of the major clients’ uses of the products and of the controlling parameters
• In-depth knowledge of quality control methods and instruments
• Good knowledge of process control statistical methods and of experimental design
• Good knowledge of control tools and instruments (operation logics, regulation methods and systems)
• Good knowledge of current regulations and of specific environmental constraints
• Good knowledge of safety laws and regulations
