JOB DETAILS:
Job purpose:
The Quality Controller is responsible for ensuring the quality of grain products throughout their lifecycle, monitoring raw materials, production processes, and finished goods, and implementing quality procedures, audits, and training initiatives.

Working Conditions
• Working indoors and outdoors.
• Exposure to excessive noise (seasonally).
• Navigating slippery and uneven walking surfaces.
• Working around machinery with moving parts and heavy equipment.
• Proximity to moving objects or vehicles.
• Working in close proximity to others.
• Exposure to offensive odours (occasionally).
• Required to wear personal protective equipment.
• Required to work longer hours seasonally.
Responsible For
Monitor Quality of Grain Products
• Perform quality control analysis including tests and inspections of raw, in-process, and finished products.
• Sample and identify any bacterial or non-desirable excess material using standard procedures.
• Compute formulas, percentages, or production-specific factors using chemical and mathematical procedures.
• Ensure the quality of packaging and storage materials.
Grain Reporting:
• Prepare reports on tests performed to measure quality, quantity, and composition.
• Update grain quality standards and specifications.
• Review and report the principal causes of quality loss and non-conformance.
• Maintain records of all tests carried out and retain samples as per standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Ensure all check sheets are correctly completed and all non-compliance issues are addressed and signed off.
Develop and Implement Quality Procedures:
• Determine, negotiate, and agree on in-house quality procedures, standards, and specifications.
• Guide in setting up quality standards and ensure production adheres to these standards.
• Establish, implement, and review quality policies, objectives, documented procedures, documents, and records needed by the organization.
• Identify relevant grain quality assurance training needs and opportunities for key staff.
Conduct Internal and External Quality Audits and Training:
• Participate in training sessions to improve compliance.
• Arrange, coordinate, and participate in internal and external quality audits, ensuring consistency and validity of issued grades, procedures, and protocols.
• Collaborate with other divisions and units to ensure satisfaction.
• Actively support the company’s initiative to acquire ISO 22000 accreditation.
Additional Responsibilities:
• Perform other roles and responsibilities as assigned from time to time to meet the dynamic needs of the organization.

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Food Technology/Science, Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Agriculture, or related fields.
