CONTEXT
In collaboration with World Vision International and the Heilbrunn Department of Population and Family Health, Mailman School of Public Health, AfriChild seeks a Research Manager to conduct research on Child Friendly Spaces (CFS) in Emergencies Research Project – Strengthening the Evidence Base II. CFS is used by a growing number of agencies in an increasing range of contexts and emergencies but a commonly agreed set of standards, best practice, monitoring and evaluation tools have not yet been fully developed. Building on this earlier work and established partnership, a more concerted effort to unpack structured activities offered within CFS is the next step to further support and improve programme design and effectiveness in the acute phase, while strengthening the potential for lasting impacts.
Position Overview: The Research Manager will serve as the qualitative field researcher for the project, responsible for the preparation of qualitative research tools, training of field staff, supervision and support of implementation of field data collection, coordination with the research supervisor and DM&E Officer, collation and analysis of qualitative data, and co-drafting of research reports and peer-reviewed publications.
