Currently, Speedaf is a leading logistics service provider between China and Africa.
Speedaf Limited is looking for a suitable candidate (one) for the position of a Rider Manager.
Job Title: Rider’s Manager (1 Job Placement)
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda .

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Plan and supervise the shipment and delivery of goods/packages from production to the end-user
• Schedule daily and weekly routes for the people under your supervision.
• Track orders using functional systems (e.g. barcodes and tracking software)
• Coordinate with Warehouse Workers to ensure proper storage and distribution of products
• Conduct regular safety audits on equipment’s.
• Organize training sessions for employees (e.g. proper use of machines and handling of hazardous material)
• Keep organized records of motorcycles, schedules and completed orders.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and shipping legislation
• Monitor and report on transportation costs
• Ensure shipping documents are properly filed
• Report maintenance and repair needs for transportation vehicles and equipment
• Research and suggest cost-effective shipping methods
• Stay up-to-date with safety regulations.
• Planning routes and load scheduling for multi-drop deliveries.
• Booking in deliveries and liaising with customers.
• Allocating and recording resources and movements on the transport planning system.
• Ensuring all partners in the supply chain are working effectively and efficiently to ensure smooth operations.

• Communicating effectively with clients and responding to their requirements.
• Booking sub-contractors and ensuring they deliver within agreed terms.
• Directing all transportation activities.

• Negotiating and bargaining transportation prices.
• Dealing with the effects of congestion.
• Confronting climate change issues by implementing transport strategies and monitoring an organization’s carbon footprint.
• Maintains strict safety and operation standards.
• Inspects ride according to safety checklist and notifies proper authority of any problems.
• Schedules breaks to assure efficient operating coverage.
• Assures that ride is kept clean and attractive.
• Assures that capacity standards are strictly maintained.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• Ability to appraise and use IT packages and electronic communication methods.
• Tact, diplomacy and calmness, especially when dealing with tired drivers and disgruntled customers.
• An analytic mind and good numeracy skills.
• Excellent geographical knowledge.
• Good people management and coordination skills.
• Excellent financial acumen.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Extensive knowledge of the transportation industry.
• Good intuition to make crucial judgment calls.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or any other relevant field.
• 2-3years in transportation Management and/or safety management experience is an added advantage.
• Should have worked in a transportation or logistics Company.
• Proven work experience as a Transportation Manager, Shipping Manager or similar role
• Solid knowledge of supply chain management
• Ability to supervise and train staff.
• Problem-solving abilities.
• Experience in preparing and tracking orders.
• Familiarity with logistics software, like Freight view and 3PLink
• Excellent organizational skills.
