Position Title: RISK ASSURANCE OFFICER
Number of Vacancies: 1 (ONE)
Location: KAMPALA UGANDA

Job Summary:
The job holder is responsible for assessing the effectiveness of internal controls, compliance processes, and risk management frameworks to ensure the organization operates in a secure, compliant, and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:
o Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities across various business processes.
o Provide actionable recommendations to mitigate identified risks and improve control measures.
o Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to gather information and insights for risk analysis.
o Work with the customer support team to address customer questions and concerns regarding an investigation.
o Conduct fraud checks as required and respond to questions and discussion threads relating to the fraud checks.
o Develop and implement compliance testing procedures to assess adherence to standards.
o Assist in the design and implementation of new controls to address emerging risks.
o Prepare reports on identified high-risk and potentially fraudulent accounts and/or transactions.
o Prepare chargebacks analysis report.
o Daily review and disposition of transactions flagged for investigation.

Education/Experience Needed:
o Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance Risk Management, or a related field
o At least 3 years’ experience in a similar function preferably from the financial sector.
o Certification in ACAMS is an added advantage.
o Proficiency in risk management software, data analysis tools, and Microsoft Office Suite
o Knowledge of industry-specific regulations, compliance frameworks, and governance standards.

Skills and Abilities Required:
o Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data, identify trends, variances, and anomalies, and provide recommendations for improvement.
o Proficiency in conducting comprehensive risk assessments and evaluating their potential impact.
o Thoroughness in reviewing and documenting risk assessment findings and control evaluations.
o Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey complex risk concepts clearly.
