JOB DETAILS:
An intimate and award-winning Lodge Group is looking for a SALES AND MARKETING MANAGER.

Candidate Requirements:
• Must have a degree in Tourism/Hospitality (institution must be contactable for reference purposes).
• Minimum of 3 years experience in the management of reservations and/or tour operations/safari planning.
• Be able to have face-to-face interaction with clients including a few trade shows, and some familiarisation trips for product knowledge, but is largely office-based with a focus on electronic relationships- building with International clients.
• A large part of the role is the coordination and management of the sales team/s’ processes.
• Must be genuinely a problem-solver, forward-thinking and action-focused.
• Must be a ‘do-er’ and not just a director.
• Strong marketing experience and knowledge.
• Strong experience with agent and guest relations.
• Experience with International markets and their requirements.
• Preferably have managed a team of people in Africa and understand the different challenges that can be faced here.
• Understanding of the industry’s financial processes.
• Excellent understanding of hospitality and tourism logistics with regard to lodge reservations and safaris within Africa.
• Excellent English skills – verbal and written.
• Excellent computer skills are essential (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and all Social Media are musts).
• Excellent administration skills.

Responsibilities:
• You are required to lead, motivate, train and inspire a team of around 5-7 (possibly more) staff to exceed all guest expectations
• Driving revenues.
• Monthly budgeting and proactive planning.
• Generating, effecting and staying within budgets.
• Financial meetings and working closely with the Finance team to ensure all reservations and safaris are operating effectively, and that the finance team have all the information that they require.
• Looking at new ways of working smarter.
• Ensuring that weekly and month-end procedures are followed.
• Ensuring that all information submitted is accurate.
• Monitoring of controls and systems.
• Being prepared with answers and a clear understanding of how your teams are doing at all times.
• Fully accountable and responsible for all aspects of marketing both the lodges and the safari company.
• Responsible for all aspects of reservations and sales within the business.
