JOB DETAILS:
Position Overview:
• The Senior Accountability and Risk Manager is responsible for overseeing the performance of one staff member (Accountability and Risk Manager) working on the ARMSS initiative. The Senior Accountability and Risk Manager will liaise with the USAID/Uganda Mission and various implementing partners (IPs) and stakeholders in Uganda.

Responsibilities:
• Serve as the advisor to the Accountability and Risk Manager on all issues relating to evaluations, research, and capacity building.
• Provide extensive review and quality control of task planning, draft and final versions of evaluations, learning reviews, and analyses.
• Oversee ARMSS and other ULA staff who are directly providing capacity-building and other support to IPs.
• Oversee the design and delivery of a Learning Event bringing together stakeholders at the national and sub-national level.
• Oversee the design and delivery of MEL training for local USAID partners.
• Work with other members of the senior leadership team at ULA on topics relating to budget, human resources, and operations.
• Coordinate with various USAID/Uganda offices (e.g., Program Office) and other stakeholders to communicate progress and share findings.
• Work with the Accountability and Risk Manager to conduct validation and verification visits to select local partners who received organizational capacity strengthening from USAID.
• Travel throughout Uganda to fulfill the initiative’s monitoring and training requirements and liaise with stakeholders as needed.

Requirements:
• Master’s degree in related subject (e.g., International Development, Public Health, etc.) plus three years of experience working in the international development field.
• Strong project management skills and ability to provide concrete examples of utilizing these skills in a work setting.
• Effectively able to meet assigned deadlines.
• Experience working with USAID and related stakeholders (i.e., GoU, district governments).
• Exemplary communication and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent ability to communicate with staff, colleagues, and local partners and motivate them to work towards the project’s objectives.
