Position Description
To provide financial support, monitoring and coordination of UNNGOF project activities and ensuring all policies and procedures, donor regulations, accounting standards and local laws are complied with.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the coordination and implementation of programme activities
• Collates programme data as may be required by the Team and prepares various programme documents and reports as may be necessary.
• In consultation with the Senior Programme Associate and Team Leader, support the design, development, and implementation of the relevant activities on a regular basis. Supports the development of work plans and progress reports ie. weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually.
• Experience in supervising, mentoring and coaching subgrantees, to establish sound systems of sub-grant management.
• Manage donor-funded projects and ensure accurate and timely reporting as per the pre-defined project requirements.
• Supports the team in the preparation and development of programme documents and reports.
• Participates in periodic monitoring visits and produces reports on programme activity implementation.
• Coordinate the financial planning and budgeting for project(s) in line with UNNGOF and Donor requirements.
• Support in the management and monitoring of cash flows and the liquidity position of the projects to ensure financial obligations are met as they fall due in line with and UNNGOF and Donor requirements
• understanding of local and national contexts, needs and gaps, and who does what and where. This includes helping to identify and prioritize emergent policy and governance issues to address.
• Coordinate and lead the drafting of analysis and responses to a wide range of issues and topics.
• Use expert knowledge in governance and policy to help conceptualize, design and lead the project interventions in accordance with the overall goals of the team and UNNGOF. Review, in liaison with the Senior Associate - Finance, the project expenditure for proper coding, budgetary verification and document necessary remedial actions.
Qualifications
• A Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Financial Management, Accounting or a related field from a recognised University.
• Professional Accounting qualifications (ACCA, CPA). At least four years of relevant work experience, two of which should have been in Finance and Grants management preferably at managerial level in a reputable organisation.
• Experience in managing multi-year USAID grants and familiar with all reporting and financial management requirements of USAID funds.
