JOB DETAILS:
Full time carpenter for a workshop in Ntinda, Kampala

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Making cutting lists, cut, assemble and install cabinets, shelving, fitted furniture.
• Adding fixtures and fittings such as drawer runners, handles, locks, hinges and shutters.
• Taking measurements and calculating the size and amount of material needed.
• Cutting, shaping and smoothing boards and other material according to measurements.
• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirements.
• Inspect places and conduct repairs or maintenance.
• Adding finishing touches using the different types of finishing carpentry tools.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience
• Hands-on experience in working with MDF Boards, wood, glass, acrylic etc.
• Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction.
• Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, routers, jigsaws, hammers, rulers, drills, chisels, sanders, and nail guns etc.)
• Ability to read technical documents and drawings
• Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times.
• Good knowledge of English and good understanding of basic math.
