JOB PURPOSE

To support the implementation of the Authority’s communication and public relations activities to ensure accurate dissemination of information and enhance the Authority’s visibility and image. 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i. Prepare and disseminate communication materials such as press releases, newsletters, brochures, and reports.

ii. Manage content updates for the Authority’s website and social media platforms to ensure timely and accurate information.

iii. Monitor media coverage and public sentiment related to the Authority and prepare summary reports.

iv. Support the organization of public relations activities, events, and campaigns to promote the Authority’s mandate and achievements.

v. Respond to routine inquiries from the media, stakeholders, and the public in consultation with senior officers.

vi. Develop and maintain a database of media contacts and stakeholders for effective communication.

vii. Support the development of communication strategies and action plans for the Authority.

viii. Prepare presentations, speeches, and other materials for events and engagements.

ix. Provide logistical and administrative support for communication activities and events.

x. Ensure proper documentation and archiving of communication-related materials. 

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

A. Qualifications

i. Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field from a recognized institution.

B. Experience

i. At least 3 years of relevant work experience which should have been served at Officer level in Government or reputable organization.

C. Competencies

i. Knowledge and understanding of the Authority’s vision, mission, and objectives.

ii. Knowledge of Anti Money Laundering Act, Cap 118, Anti-Terrorism Act and respective regulations.

iii. Proficiency in content creation, editing, and management across various platforms.

iv. Strong understanding of social media management and analytics tools.

v. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

vi. Ability to draft clear and concise reports and press releases.

vii. Interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.

viii. Creativity in developing communication campaigns and materials.

ix. Knowledge of media relations and event coordination.

x. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

xi. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
