Post: Senior ICT Auditor
Reports to: Head Internal Audit
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
Department: Internal Audit
Responsibilities:
Conducting of all branch and departmental normal follow-ups, and snap audits in accordance with the annual audit plan, including planning, field work, audit supervision, and report writing.
Specific tasks:
Primary Responsibilities:
• Conducts branch and departmental normal, follow-up, and snap audits in accordance with the annual audit plan, including planning, field work, audit supervision, and report writing.
• Conducts preliminary surveys as required.
• Continues own professional development and that of assigned staff.
• Supervises the activities of auditors assigned to audits.
• Maintains effective working relations with management of units audited. Specific Activities Include:
• Handles all IT related issues that come up within the course of Bank operations not specific to the audit plan.
• Liaises with the Head of ICT and ensures that all system updates, modifications and any other changes are properly authorized, tested and documented.
• Prepare IT related tests for auditable areas
• Prepares audit plan and work papers for assigned normal, snap and follow-up audits.
Others:
• Assists the Internal Auditor in preparing and subsequently monitoring audit plans and programs which ensure proper co-ordination of all internal audit activities.
• Monitors the effectiveness of audit effort through review of audit papers or direct audit Involvement
• Assists the Internal Auditor in determining audit policies.
• Occasionally carrying out audit assignments as guided by the Manager Internal Audit.
• Review of audit reports and methodology, and preparation of reports and correspondence as appropriate.
• Provision of team leadership in the conduct of specific investigations and inquiries requiring appropriate expertise.
• Control of the day-to-day administration of the office, including the planning and monitoring of the budget, and authorization of expenditure for the department.
• Control of recurring audit activities including the reviews of Assurance audits and the general compliance audits within the Field Support Centres of the organization.
• Represents the Internal Auditor in audit matters as required.
• Assistance in practical training and supervision of the Auditor.
• Minimum of five years’ experience in similar role preferably in a financial Institute
Required Qualifications
• Possess a bachelor's degree in computer science or business related field from a recognized university
