Position Description
The Senior Programme Associate is familiar with current and emerging interventions, trends, and practices in the fields of governance, policy and civic space. The position holder understands and guides how key stakeholders can be engaged
• Provide technical support to partners and staff in project to achieve policy advocacy goals, governance reforms and fundraising and fund management.
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reports are prepared in line with donor requirements, UNNGOF policies and procedures.
• Prepare and attend to the needs of projects' internal and extemal auditors and implement recommendations
• Support the implementation of an intemal control system to maintain the financial integrity and compliance with UNNGOF policies, procedures, national laws and donor requirements.
• Review and analyze accounts / balances relating to the general ledger control account and reconciliations improvements in civic space.
• He/she provides input into the strategic direction of key UNNGOF programmes and will be responsible for programme design and development; implementation; and partner and or stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct research, develop and execute advocacy strategies to influence governance and public policy processes.
• Coordinates work plan development and implementation ensuring alignment to organizational standards and delivery of set targets and objectives.
• Ensure that UNNGOF programming reflects an up-to-date
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
• A Master's Degree in the areas of governance, public policy, development, economics, law, human rights, social sciences or any other related fields from a recognized institution.
• A minimum of 5 years of similar work experience; three of which must have been at coordination level in a reputable organisation
• Previous experience working with Policy, Advocacy and Governance interventions.
• Demonstrable excellent writing and analytical skills
• Training in human rights-based approaches and project planning and management is an added advantage.
