JOB DETAILS:
Epicentre is a Non Government Organization created by Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) in 1987 to help improve the quality of its field interventions. Since 1996, Epicentre has been a World Health Organization (WHO) collaborating Centre for research in epidemiology and response to emerging diseases. Epicentre's work hinges around three main activity areas: clinical research, field epidemiology and training.
Job title: Senior Research Assistant
Location : Kabale and Epicentre Mbarara Research Centre in (EMRC), Uganda
Reports to: Country principal investigator / TB Studies Coordinator
Contract Duration : 1 year renewable
Salary scale: 6,570,397 (Gross) or 4,368,758 (Net). Other Benefits: Medical Insurance & Seniority. Epicentre pays 13th salaries in the calendar year.

General responsibilities (not exhaustive)
• Coordinate and supervise the clinical implementation of the DATURA and INTENSE-TBM protocols by working directly with the clinical team and study coordinator under the guidance of the Country PL
• Follow with the administration of Epicentre the development of collaborative agreements with national TB program and research implementation health facilities
• Prepare national and international orders with the support from Epicentre
• Organise and coordinate the implementation site assessment and selection
• Develop the project Human Resources training plan, participate in the recruitment and training of the HR.
• Ensure that all manuals, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and forms are available on site.

• Organise with Epicentre the administrative and logistic support to the sites.
• Ensure timely supply of study equipment, materials, drugs and reagents to the study sites. Organise the patients and samples flow with the sites With Country Pl, ensure the Trial implementation complies with GCP, available protocols and SOPs.
• Be of technical support to the team according to TOR and ensure implementation following GCP.
• Ensure there is quality assurance procedures for clinical, laboratory assessment and data management. ges Facilitate the site visits by members of the IRU. Unscientific director, output leaders, national program or any external person involved in the project.

Requirements:
Education: Minimum Qualification: Must have an MBChB with a masters in Medicine (Internal med or pediatrics), or Master of Public Health, or Master of Epidemiology.

Experience: 2+ years working experience in clinical research in limited resource countries.
Knowledge: Knowledge of ICH guidelines, GCP, and the clinical trial study process Training in project management is an added advantage.

Competencies : Teamwork, independence, Flexibility, Strong verbal and written communication skills & Training in Good Clinical Practice.
