Responsibilities
The Senior Research Manager is responsible for managing and leading the Market Research Team in terms of development, efficiency, staff continuity, capacity and research. This function takes on both a management role as well as a technical role. The management role includes the building and managing of a team of research professionals and the management of all aspects of research projects. The SRM will ensure profitability of all projects at proposal and work stage. in addition, the SRM will also have the responsibility of managing their own projects.

Business Development

  • Overall responsibility for meeting or exceeding monthly, quarterly and annual gross turnover and operating profit targets for the Research Division
  • Active monitoring, management and improvement of client satisfaction and loyalty

Technical Research Role

  • Advising on the interpretation of findings and the planning of presentations deliverables
  • Adding value to all client deliverables
  • Providing solutions expertise from a design, analysis and an interpretive perspective Project Management
  • Ensuring that the Research Team complete all steps in the research process on time and to the expected quality standards
  • Skills transfer to and supervision of Research Team members

People Management and Development

  • Being a role model for staff in terms of own professional and personal approach to work
  • Overall responsibility for staff in terms of; recruiting, induction training, performance management, retention and promotion, recognizing, rewarding, and disciplining
    Networking and Relationship Building
  • To build relationships with key global specialists within Ipsos
  • To build relationships with key industry experts

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with upper second class honors from a reputable University
  • Master’s degree or Professional qualifications in e relevant area of specialization is encouraged
  • At least 8 years ‘experience in research at Manager level
  • Fluent written and spoken English and strong communication and influencing skills with proven ability to effectively communicate insights to all levels of the business in e practical, user friendly and meaningful way
  • Ability to turn data into actionable intelligence / insights
  • Strong research relationships and networks
  • Sound knowledge of interpreting nnd analyzing information
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Word and SPSS and other survey analysis systems like Quantum
  • Able to work within a milt-cultural environment
  • A good understanding of client-aide expectations
  • Understanding of system and processes
  •  Ability to work and deliver under pressure
  • Good report writing skills
  • Good management and supervisory skills
  •  Interpersonal skills, good people skills, good organizational skills and strong presentation skills
  • Time, costing and project management skills
  •  Self-driven, results orientated, shows exceptional initiative and ls focused on quality and profit
  • Mature credible and comfortable In dealing with clients at a senior level
