JOB DETAILS:
JOB PURPOSE
Conduct analysis of financial reports from licensed entities and ensure compliance with reporting and accounting standards.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Review scheme financial submissions and make regulatory recommendations
• Identify early warning signs of scheme failure, to inform regulatory interventions.
• Advise on financial reporting requirements of the sector
• Prepare and advise on financial performance indicators to inform consistent sector assessments
• Review actuarial valuation reports and liaise with scheme actuaries/ consultants
• Monitor benefits payments and policies related to benefits payments in schemes
• Monitor market trends and application of financial reporting standards and advise on their implication to the sector.
• Plan and prepare for engagements with scheme accountants and auditors for capacity enhancement on regulatory requirements
• Prepare financial analysis reports and support the preparation of the Authority’s annual performance report
• Supervise financial analysts

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS
Minimum qualifications
• Relevant Bachelor’s Degree in either Finance; or Accounting; or Commerce; or Actuatial Science; or Economics; or Statistics; or a related field from a recognized institution.

Desirable qualification
• Master’s degree in any of the above fields from a recognized university
• Professional qualifications in any of the above fields
• Must be a registered member of a professional body.

Minimum Experience
• Minimum of 5 (Five) years relevant work experience, 3 (three) of which must have been served at Officer Level in a reputable institution.
• Significant experience in financial analysis, accounting, or Auditing in a regulated or regulatory body is preferred.
• Broad knowledge of the financial sector will be an added advantage.
