JOB DETAILS:
The Uganda Sanitation for Health Activity (USHA) is financed by USAID in Uganda with the goal of increasing the number of people with access to improved and sustainable water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) services, ultimately leading to improved health and nutrition status in focus areas and population groups in up to 21 districts in the Central East, Central West and Northern regions. .

Job Description
The Senior Technical WASH Manager will coordinate and lead in providing technical support to the USHA-based regional team related to expanding adoption of key hygiene behaviors at home, school and health facilities, and strengthening district water and sanitation governance for sustainable services. Responsibilities include: providing on-going support, supervision and technical guidance to ensure adequate project planning, strategy development and implementation, and serving as line manager to the Gender & Youth Specialist. S/he will work closely with the Deputy Chief of Party and be an integral part of the senior management team in country.

Qualifications:
• Master‘s degree or higher in a WASH -related field.
• 10 years of experience in an equivalent technical and managerial position, especially in the Ugandan WASH context.
• Experience in overseeing multi-year donor-funded programs.
• Experience in managing teams and budgets, performance monitoring and reporting, coordinating concurrent activities, and effectively engaging with local government and NGOs/ community-based organizations.
• Strung English communication skills, both oral (fluency preferred) and written, and any related local language.
• Demonstrated organizational skills and a strong track record in meeting deliverables and deadlines.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision and under pressure
