Job Title: Sexual, Reproductive and Maternal Health Specialist

Overall Purpose
Reporting to the Emergency Manager, the Sexual, Reproductive and Maternal Health Specialist is a technical specialist in the areas of Sexual Reproductive and Maternal Health and Rights programming. She/he provides a link between CARE and the Health facilities/communities to provide technical support in the areas of Reproductive and Maternal Health, Adolescent reproductive health and rights, facilitating linkages to health services; ensuring centre based referrals, health service mapping, backstopping support capacity enhancement and ensures compliance within the ministry of Health technical standards.

Under the various funding streams within the program, the SRMH specialist contributes to integration of gender transformative program approaches and implementation of Sexual Reproductive and Maternal Health and rights activities within the Humanitarian setting. She/he is responsible for enhancing an environment that will deliberately explore and identity gender inequalities, diversity and corisciously explore appropriate models aimed at integrating transformation SRH interventions. These will include but are not limited to gender capacity assessment of l\GOs/CBOs, identifying gaps/priority areas for intervention in relation to the impact population, strengthening, designing and scaling up of appropriate interventions/strategies according to National and international frameworks, conventions and human rights standards. She/he will work with other CARE colleagues, communities, partner organizations and relevant government departments, building and nurturing relationships with the various program stakeholders to support, plan, coordinate and implement capacity building initiatives in the area of SRMH as agreed with supervisor and CARE USA's technical staff.
