The Role
We are seeking a Skilling Manager to develop and implement skilling strategies for our organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating skilling programs and initiatives that will enhance the knowledge and skills deliverables of TIV’s programs, especially in the areas of general tech skilling, business fundamentals for small businesses, and software development.
In this role you will:
• Develop and implement skilling programs for program stakeholders, focused on general tech and digital skilling, business fundamentals for small businesses, business fundamentals in supply chain, marketing, and finance, with specific interventions geared towards MSME managers, individuals engaged in farming, education and retail sectors, and upskilling/re-skilling for software developers.
• Work with other TIV departments throughout TIVs regional hubs to identify skilling needs and create training plans to address these needs.
• Evaluate and assess training programs to ensure they are meeting organizational goals and objectives.
• Collaborate with external vendors, trainers, and experts to deliver effective skilling programs.
• Collaborate with the technical team, the Community Pass team and the MarComms team to design and popularize a developer curriculum for Community Pass certification.
• Monitor and report on the progress of skilling programs and initiatives to senior management.
• Stay current with industry trends and developments in skilling and training methods to continually improve programs. The ideal candidate for this role will have excellent communication and presentation skills, as well as a strong technical background and a passion for technology and innovation.
• Success in this role will also require a passion for digital tools and digital transformation, and a vision to extend digitalization to underserved communities.
Skills And Experience Profile
• At least 5 years of experience in skilling, training, or talent development.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of general tech skilling, business fundamentals for small businesses, and software development.
• Experience developing skilling programs for a technology or software development organization.
• Experience in leading the delivery of multi-sectoral training cohorts.
• Knowledge of e-learning platforms and technologies.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience working with a diverse group of stakeholders.
• Certifications in relevant skilling areas.
