JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose:
The position holder is to collect and transcribe qualitative data from recent Ebola survivors,
their family members, those suspected to have been suffering from the disease, community
members, volunteers and health workers in Mubende district.

Roles & Responsibilities
• Recruit participants;
• Schedule and conduct qualitative interviews;
• Summarize interviews;
• Transcribe audio interviews in a timely manner;
• Code/conduct preliminary analysis of data, as necessary;
• Maintain accurate records of interviews and their voice recordings, safeguarding the confidentiality of participants;
• Ensure audio recordings of interviews and their corresponding transcripts are promptly forwarded to the Supervisor, and in a manner consistent with the Unit data management protocols;
• Through email, ensure the Supervisor is updated on developments in the field in a timely manner;
• Attend regular project meetings;
• Prepare periodic progress reports for the Supervisor; and,
• Execute other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by Supervisor.

Person Specification
• Bachelor’s degree in community psychology;
• Should possess training in social science research methods, especially data collection and analysis;
• Should have training in the use of NVivo Software for qualitative data management/analysis;
• Certification in Good Clinical Practice or Research Ethics;
• Should possess experience in qualitative data collection, transcription and analysis;
• Should possess knowledge in qualitative data collection, transcription, analysis; and,
• Knowledge and work experience in mental health.
