JOB DETAILS:

Duty Station: Kampala
Remuneration: T4 according to Tamani Scale Contract
Type: Renewable
Contract Period: 3 Years
Reports to: Director of Operations

Role:
Coordinate the development of the Sustainable Tourism annual work plan and budget as guided by the Strategic Plan and Sustainable Tourism Policy and provides framework support leadership of Sustainable Tourism division, programs and projects to ensure continuous improvement

Duties
1. Develop and execute work plan to achieve roles specific objectives ensuring donor priorities and initiatives are considered
2. Develop sustainable tourism policies and strategies with well evaluated options to aid decision making
3. Develop and implement effective monitoring and evaluation mechanisms and reports
4. Provide relevant, timely and data-supported sustainable tourism planning, research, policy and development support
5. Provide effective project design, development, and implementation
6. Adhere to all relevant internal and external controls and standard operating procedures
7. Design, implement and continuously refine resource documents/ templates/ databases/ guides developed
8. Identify and planning to ensure effective delivery of sustainable tourism projects
9. Provide timely, accurate and relevant reports/papers/policies/interventions etc. to senior management for decision making purposes

Qualifications
1. Minimum degree in Tourism and marketing
2. Minimum of 3-5 years in sustainable tourism development work
3. Demonstrated excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
4. Computer skill
5. Proven ability to establish and maintain relationships and partnerships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders with the view to building strong relationships
6. Research and project management experience, desirable
