Duties And Responsibilities
• Work closely with Luminos’ in-country teams to plan, design, and deliver teacher training in foundational literacy and numeracy at the primary level, using a teacher's guide.
• Support the design and delivery of training for master trainers, community partners, and teachers.
• Support the development of learning assessments and analyze data to inform curriculum development and training plans.
• Produce high-quality training content that are relevant to each setting.
• Support teachers in meeting the challenges involved in changing teaching practices.
• Use a range of training practices and suggest general strategies for development.
• Project manage and administer own work areas, ensuring work is aligned with wider program activities.
• Maintain effective partnerships to achieve shared outcomes, particularly around the development and running of training.
• Apply knowledge and understanding of progression in phonics, from early phonological awareness to reading and spelling fluency, to developing number skills.
• Use peer review and quality assurance processes in relation to course and resource development.
Qualifications
Required Experience:
• Passionate about improving the lives of children through education.
• Proven experience as an effective classroom teacher and/or trainer.
• Subject specialization in foundation literacy and/or numeracy.
• Knowledge of planning a systematic approach to the teaching of phonics and application of numbers.
• Experience with designing, writing, and reviewing teacher’s guides and student learning materials.
• Knowledge of using assessment effectively.
• Experience in designing and delivering effective teacher training.
• Proactive and organized.
• Experienced with supporting teams remotely.
• Great communication skills and ability to build relationships.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Fluency in written and spoken English, and superb writing and communication skills.
Candidates should have legal authorization to work in the country in which they will be based.
