Are you passionate, dynamic, enthusiastic, energetic and passionate about creating positive change in your community?
Would you like to meet likely minded young people who are committed to bring about positive change in communities through:
• Advocating for increased demand, access and uptake for sexual reproductive health services
• Challenging negative social norms that undermine the dignity of women and girl and increase their risk to sexual and gender-based violence
• Taking action to end sexual and gender-based violence including; elimination of harmful cultural practices like; early child marriages, female genital mutilation
• Challenging stigma and demystifying myths and misconceptions on family planning
• and, advocating for an end to HIV by promoting adoption of safe sexual behaviors like; condom use, faithfulness on one partner, and respect for young people living?
Well, if you are committed to any of the above and you hail from Eastern Region (particularly from Busoga, Bukedi and Teso Sub-regions), we are looking for you to be a UYAHF Change Champion! .

Who are our Change Champions and What do they do?
• Change Champions are dynamic, enthusiastic and passionate young people who are committed to taking action that can bring about positive change as described above.
• Change champions must be between 15 – 26 years and must be willing to explore new ideas, learn, share experiences and take part in key actions geared towards advancing young people’s demand, access and uptake of comprehensive, integrated and quality sexual reproductive health services and information like; family planning, maternal and child health services, sexuality education, HIV testing counselling and treatment, HIV prevention activities like condom use, testing and treatment of STIs, cervical and breast cancer screening.
• Change champions also undertake community and policy level interventions that are geared towards preventing and managing sexual and gender-based violence including; elimination of harmful cultural practices like; child marriages, female genital mutilation among others.
• Change champions engage their fellow peers in demystifying stigma, myths and misconceptions around family planning, HIV, gender equality and offer themselves to be change agents and sources of correct information and referral points for SRHR and SGBV services.
• As a UYAHF change champion, you automatically become a member of the UYAHF Youth Hub!

What is the Youth Hub?
The Youth Hub is a dynamic, free and safe virtual and physical space for recreation, dialogue, skilling and learning. At the Youth Hub, we have fun, we play, we lough, we dialogue, we learn, we share experiences, we eat, dance, sing, watch movies, watch soccer, play games (board games, sports games) and we undertake activities in our communities that can bring about positive change as described above.
The Youth Hub also has a space for providing psychosocial support services for victims of sexual and gender-based violence. The Youth Hub is linked to the UYAHF Adolescents Health Clinic where young people access quality and confidential youth friendly sexual reproductive health services and information.
What’s even cooler at the youth hub is that we provide access to free wifi, we offer entrepreneurship and skills development programs like training in: fashion and design, bakery and confectionary, hair dressing, computer skills training among others.
