We are looking for an experienced, proactive and value driven Legal Person, ambitious and entrepreneurial individual who can defend our value proposition.
Position: Upstream Legal Coordinator
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide in-house legal support to our client in Oil & Gas.
• Work closely with all the departments of the company (Business & Development, Health, Safety and Environment (HSE), Human Resources, Finance, Corporate Affairs, National Content, Land, Compliance, Contracts & Procurement, etc.).
• Provide strategic advice and assistance in negotiating and drafting contracts and documents of all kinds, such as Production Sharing Agreements, Joint Operation Agreements, licenses, correspondences with Authorities, Governmental Agencies, suppliers, professional organizations, etc.
• Coordinate with the midstream legal function.
• Implement and manage processes and policies for minimizing legal risks.
• Conduct training on key legal issues, assist in selecting and managing legal advisers and advise in litigation.
• Any other legal related work as may be assigned.
Qualifications A Experience
• Bachelors in Laws (First class or Minimum Upper Second).
• Diploma in legal practice from the Law Development Centre.
• Master's Degree in Law from a reputable institution.
• Minimum 8 years relevant in-house or law firm experience, with at least 3 years in oil & gas (international experience is an added advantage).
• In-depth knowledge of relevant areas of law, trained expert in drafting and negotiating.
• Business focus, ability to think and partner with management to achieve success.
• Team player, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Good organisation, pragmatic, innovative, positive, and able to prioritise tasks and work in a broad cultural spectrum.
