The position will be based in MBALE and will report directly to COMMERCIAL MANAGER ARABICA.

Your responsibilities
• Manage day-to-day activities at the washing station, including cherry reception, pulping, fermentation, washing, and drying, ensuring that all processes adhere to quality standards, supervising all aspects of the coffee washing station, including processing, sorting, and drying of coffee.
• Quality Control: Monitor and maintain high-quality standards throughout the processing stages, including cherry selection, fermentation times and methods, washing techniques, and drying protocols.
• Implementation of Processing Instructions: Ensure that coffee is processed according to the instructions as well as apportioning proper volumes for both natural and washed coffees in collaboration with the Quality and Commercial departments.
• CWS Team Management: Management of the team of workers to ensure smooth operations and high-quality coffee output.
• Supply Chain Management: Coordinating with FSU to source high-quality coffee from coffee farmers, suppliers, and buyers to ensure a steady supply of coffee cherries and the timely delivery of fresh coffee cherries.
• Tools/Equipment Maintenance: Overseeing the maintenance and repair of processing equipment to ensure smooth operations.
• Compliance: Ensuring compliance with all SOPs as well as the safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Make regular visits to the Drying Yard, to ensure adherence to all the quality parameters at all processing stages.
• Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of purchase, production, quality control measures, and other relevant information at the Washing Station plus the other inventories.
• Budget Management: In collaboration with the Accounts department and Arabica Commercial Manager, the CWS Manager is responsible for managing the budget for the coffee washing station, including monitoring expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities for process improvement and implementing measures to enhance efficiency and quality.
• Communication: Communicating effectively with team members, other relevant departments, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and desired outcomes.

Your profile
• · Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Food Science, or any related field.
• 5 years of experience in Specialty Coffee processing or a similar role.
• He/She must be willing to stay near the workstation throughout the coffee processing season. ..
