JOB DETAILS:
JOB SUMARY:
Oversees the effective capacity utilization of TIU waste management equipment, company technological systems and processes, including but not limited to executing contract strategies like tendering, supervision of project sites and compliance with company QHSE policies and procedures and regulatory requirements.

ROLES AND RESPONCIBILITIES
• Develop an integrated waste management strategy for development of TIU facility at Nyamasoga, Hoima District.
• Establish treatment standards of efficiency, minimum wastages and ensure maximum utilization of resources.
• Develop Project Assessment Tools, Project Specific Waste Profile Charts
• Leads plants superintendents and supervisors towards actualization of set objectives and targets.
• Ensure process health, security, safety and environmental risks management principles are incorporated into the heart of plant operations. Ensure personnel working in the plant areas are competent and trained to perform required task. Train all technical staff including that of sub- contractors where the need arises.
• Develop work instructions and assign functions within the operations units.
• Promote TIU's QHSSE policies and objectives; and adherence to the provisions of ISO 90001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018
• Participate fully in preparation of tenders for clients.
• Ensure proper documentation and filing system is implemented within the facility.
• Other functions that may be assigned by the Managing Director

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCES:
• A degree in Engineering, Sciences Environmental Management. A master's degree will be an advantage.
• Minimum of five years working experience on a management level in an integrated waste management company
• Good in waste characterization, report writing, making presentations, and training of subordinates.
• Knowledge and Experience in the implementation and auditing of QHSSE Management Systems, QHSSE policies and procedures, and ISO 9001:2015, 14001:2015 and 45001: 2018 standards
• Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, leadership technique, waste management methods, and coordination of people and resources.
• Good knowledge of regulatory/statutory provisions with regards to Oil & Gas Industry activities.
• Membership of a professional waste management association/body (local and or international)
• Experiences in management of facilities with waste management equipment like E-waste equipment management Reclamation Unit, CRT Cutting Machine, Ozone
• Fluorescent Tube Crushing Machine, PCB Recycling machine, etc.
• Industrial Cleaning - High pressure jetting machines, No-man entry tank cleaning equipment/Robot, etc.
• Incinerator for waste/expired chemicals, medical wastes, and other hazardous wastes.
• Thermal Desorption Unit (TDU) - for OBM, SOBM and POBM treatment and disposal
• WBM Treatment Unit - Centrifuge, WWT unit, Fixation & Solidification unit
• Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) management
