JOB DETAILS:
The Ministry of Education and Sports invites applications from suitably qualified applicants to fill the following vacant positions that exist under the Construction Management Unit.
Job title: Architectural Assistant
No of Vacancies: 1
Terms of employment: One (1) year contract with an option of renewal
Job Purpose:
To oversee the development of architectural drawings required for the planned construction projects..

 Duties and Responsibilities
• Prepare architectural drawings and other working drawings tor planned civil works in liaison with the Proiect Engineers.
• Provide technical advice on procurement of Consultants and Contractors on building projects.
• Inspect and monitor proiects in progress to ensure compliance with drawings.
• Make periodic reviews of drawings to ensure low cost but durable designs.
• Ensure that building plans conform to the By
• laws and Building Regulations of Uganda.
• Take site measurements and interpret them into drawings/plans.
• Carry out assessment in institutions and provide the necessary technical guidance on appropriate intervention.
• Prepare and submit project progress reports to AC/CMU on a monthly and quarterly basis.
• Any other duties as may be assigned by the Assistant Commissioner Construction Management Unit.

Minimum qualification requirements and competence
The candidate must have:
• Ordinary Diploma in Architectural Drawing and Draughtsman ship with at least 5 years relevant experience.
• Computer literacy to a high level including proficiency in MS Office, MS project and Auto CAD.
