Job Title: Assistant Washing Station Manager
Duty station: Mt. Elgon region
Reports to: Washing Station Manager
Job Purpose.
The job holder will work with the Washing Station Manager to ensure that all cherries received at the washing station are properly purchased, processed, washed, sorted, stored, and dispatched according to SOP and work instructions.
Duties and Responsibilities.
• Assisting the washing station manager to collect cherries in a timely manner from the field Buying unit.
• Responsible for Buying quality cherries and always producing quality parchment.
• Ensure clear traceability of the coffee throughout the process.
• Ensure that all equipment used is in good condition and calibrated.
• Make sure no different quality or Batches of coffee is mixed throughout the process.
• Any problems should be reported to the washing station Manager immediately.
• Ensure that you are responsible for updating the Casual workers' report to the washing station manager daily.
• Ensure that the certification standard guidelines are followed at all levels of processing.
• Conduct internal inspections during off season and monitor technical commercial assistant staff carrying out internal inspection in the washing station catchments areas.
• Support the manager in compiling the season Completion report.
• Maintaining the washing station machinery and premises always clean and tidy.
• To correctly and safely keep equipment tools issued in the course of work.
• You will be fully responsible for all activities that take place in the washing station in the absence of the washing station manager.
Required Qualifications, Experiences and Competences
• Diploma in Mechanical engineering or a related field.
• At least three years of professional experience in a similar role
• Effective communication skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks all with an attention to fine detail.
• Computer literacy i.e. proficiency in MS office package
• Effective leadership and people management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills Able to analyse problems and strategize for better solutions
• Good interpersonal skills to work with management and staff at all levels.
