On behalf of our Client in the Extractives sector, we are looking for competent individuals to fill the following position

Activities
The job holder is responsible for:
• Oversee planning, design and implementation of the forests and wetland component of the Tilenga Biodiversity Program to ensure achievement of biodiversity netgain for those ecosystems.
• Take lead in ensuring consultations and engagement with key stakeholders throughout the design, planning and implementation of the forests and wetlands component.
• Promote awareness and sensitization of TotalEnergies staff and external partners about the forests and wetlands component of the Tilenga Biodiversity Program (TBP). Promote and raise awareness at all levels of the organisation on the impact of emerging environmental issues and in particular ones associated with forests and wetlands, whether legislative or best practice. Train staff at all levels in biodiversity issues and responsibilities related to forests and wetlands.
• Take lead in planning, developing, and implementing technical, operational, and strategic documents such as scopes of work, terms of references, proposals, concept notes, logical frameworks, management and action plans, presentations, amongst others.
• Take lead in designing and implementing monitoring and evaluation frameworks/systems to ensure successful implementation of conservation actions for forests and wetlands within the Tilenga Project area of influence.
• Take lead in planning, designing, development and implementation of enterprises to provide alternative livelihoods or incentives for local communities to promote conservation of forests and wetlands.
• Take the lead in building an open and trusting relationship with not only the National Forestry Authority but also relevant Civil Society Organizations, NGOs, and other partners.
• Liaise with other members of the biodiversity team, and other relevant departments to ensure alignment while planning and executing activities.
• Participate in planning and coordination of relevant field activities such as wetlands restoration, reforestation of forest corridors and tracts, feasibility assessments, monitoring and evaluation, local communities’ engagements, amongst others,
• Any other duties which may arise and are related to the job assignment. QUALIFICATIONS AND Required Experience
Qualification:
• Bachelor of Science in Forestry, Wildlife management or Conservation Biology
• A subject of wetlands ecology and post graduate training in Project Planning and Management is an added advantage.
• Experience:
• At least 5 year's professional and practical experience in forest and wetlands conservation. Experience in project planning and management is an added advantage.
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of both National and International environmental legislations, and International best practices/standards e.g., IFC, IPIECA
• Practical experience of natural forest restoration/reforestation and community-based programs is an added advantage.
• Proven ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Negotiation, conflict management skills.
• Good computer skills (MS office, Access, and MS Project)
• Strong report writing and analytical skills
