EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI) FOR PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS RE-GAIN: Building Resilience through Food Loss Reduction in Africa – Uganda

Background

1. Established in 2005, AGRA is an African-led institution dedicated to transforming smallholder agriculture on the continent. AGRA focuses on shifting agriculture from a survival-oriented activity to a thriving business, placing smallholder farmers at the heart of Africa’s growing economy. Working with partners, AGRA aims to sustainably enhance Africa’s food systems through various business lines. AGRA aims to reach 30 million smallholder farmers to produce across 11 countries in Africa.

1.1 RE-GAIN Programme: Scaling Food Loss Reduction Solutions
The RE-GAIN programme aims at reducing post-harvest losses and improving the adaptive capacity of smallholder farmers on the wide scale adoption of food loss reduction solutions (FLRS) in the seven participating countries: The programme will be implemented in seven African countries: Burkina Faso, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Uganda. The aims at increasing demand and absorption capacity for FLR-S by smallholder farmers, enhancing supply and affordability of the solutions, and strengthening enabling environments for scaling them up. AGRA seeks the services of partners to implement this programme.

This call for expression of interest invites implementing partners/organizations to partner with AGRA to implement the RE-GAIN programme in Uganda.
Interested parties are therefore invited to:

• Indicate interest in each individual country separately.
• Indicate the components or only parts of the programme they are interested in implementing.
• Interested party can apply to implement all components or works/tasks allowed.
• Interested parties may apply as individual organizations or may form and present to AGRA partnerships or consortia with other organizations for the implementation of components and the attainment of all outputs under components 1 and 2.
