Responsibilities and Duties:
- Credit Risk Assessment: Evaluate creditworthiness of new and existing customers, analyzing financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant data.
- Credit Policy Development: Develop, implement, and maintain credit policies and procedures to minimize credit risk and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Credit Limit Management: Set and manage credit limits for customers, monitoring credit utilization and adjusting limits as necessary.
- Credit Review and Approval: Review and approve credit applications, ensuring adherence to credit policies and procedures.
- Customer Communication: Communicate with customers regarding credit decisions, payment terms, and any credit-related issues.
- Credit Reporting and Analysis: Analyze credit reports, identify trends, and provide insights to inform credit decisions.
- Collateral Management: Ensure proper collateral documentation and valuation, monitoring collateral coverage and adjusting as necessary.
- Compliance and Regulatory: Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, such as anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) requirements.
- Team Management: Lead and manage a team of credit analysts, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to optimize credit management operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree: In a related field, such as finance, accounting, business administration, or economics.
- Professional Certifications: Certified Credit Executive (CCE), Certified Credit Professional (CCP), or other relevant certifications.
- Relevant Coursework: Courses in finance, accounting, credit management, and business law.
Experience:
- Minimum 5-7 Years: Of experience in credit management, credit analysis, or a related field.
- Progressive Experience: Progressively responsible experience in credit management, with a focus on credit risk assessment, credit policy development, and credit limit management.
- Industry Experience: Experience in a specific industry, such as banking, finance, or retail, may be preferred.
- Leadership Experience: Experience leading and managing a team of credit analysts or credit professionals.
