We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the following position for an anticipated USAID Uganda Project “The Social and Behavior Change for Transformation (SBC4T) Activity will aim to increase the ability of individuals, households, and communities to adopt priority behaviors t_hat will result in improved health and development outcomes through social and behavior change (SBC). The focus will be on family planning and reproductive health; HIVI AIDS; malaria; nutrition; maternal, neonatal, and child health; water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH); emerging pandemic threats and other infectious diseases; and to a certain extent, other non-health development activities in education economic growth, and democracy and governance, as the need arises.
Title: Deputy Chief of Party
The DCOP will provide support to the overall strategic SBC4T leadership and will play a vital role in supporting the Chief of Party (COP) for oversight to the project. S/he shall have depth and breadth of technical expertise and experience, a solid professional reputation, interpersonal skills, and professional relationships to fulfill the requirements of the activity. In supporting the COP in rolling out the project, the DCOP will need experience interacting with host country government agencies, including local governments, development partners, the private sector, and civil society organizations, to address social and behavior change (SBC).
The position will be based in Kampala and will report to the COP.
This position is contingent upon funder approval of key personnel and availability of funds..

job Responsibilities:
• Provide leadership to implement and operationalize SBC strategies and approaches, including HCD, behavioral economics, and communication
• Provide expertise in the development and implementation of SBC strategies to address the need of behavior change,relatecl_ to health (FP/ RH, MNCAH, malaria, HIV/ AIDS, and other selected health areas) and development sectors
• Support the COP to collaborate, coordinate, and communicate , between stakeholders within and outside of the health sector at the national and subnational level
• Support planning, implementation, and management, in close coordination with the GOU and with USG partners, as well as the achievement of the goals and objectives of the project in a timely and cost-effective manner with adherence to technical quality standards and donor guidelines
• Oversee a team of technical project staff and ensure strong communication and coordination with and between all team members
• Manage partnerships and ensure strong lines of coordination, collaboration, and co-investment are established and maintained
• Ensure financial and grants management compliance with FHI 360 and USAID rules and regulations
• Serve as a point of contact and collaboration for the team and in
• country stakeholders, including USAID, implementation partners, GOU partners, and other key stakeholders
• Build staff team capacity, including that of the project’s directors to take on greater project leadership roles over the life of the project

Minimum Requirements
• Minimum of a master’s degree in a relevant field (strategic comrnunications, public health, behavioral science, etc.)
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in managing and providing technical support and capacity building to large complex international projects with significant SBC components
• Experience and understanding of SBC within and outside of the health sector
• Knowledge of the latest developments in advancing good/best practices in social behavior changes
• Experience leading large and Complex SBC-focused projects in health and other sectors
• Experience providing senior level technical assistance in at least one of these technical areas: FP/ RH, HIV/AIDS, MCH, Malaria, Nutrition, gender, and/ or youth
• Experience working on USG-funded programs and knowledgeable on USG policies, regulations, and procedures
• Proven record of building teams and fostering collaboration with donors, government institutions, international organizations, and other stakeholders
• Demonstrated leadership skills and experience building and maintaining productive working relationships with a wide network of institutional partners and stakeholders, including host governments
• Strong interpersonal, writing, and oral presentation skills i.n English
• Ability to Work independently and manage a high-volume workflow
• Relevant computer software skills, including at a minimum MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
• Relevant experience in East Africa, specifically Uganda is preferred
