JOB DETAILS:
Purpose of the Job
To implement the National HIV Prevention coordination activities and programs across all sectors and partners so as to end HIV as a Public Health threat.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Convene and organize regular HIV Prevention coordination meetings for the various HIV Prevention coordination structures, including the National Prevention Committee (NPC) and its sub-committees;
2. Participate in the development of the National HIV/AIDS Prevention policies, guidelines, and strategic HIV prevention documents;
3. Disseminate and follow up on the implementation of HIV Prevention policies and strategic documents;
4. Identify research priorities for the National HIV Prevention response and follow up the implementation of the National HIV Research Agenda;
5. Develop and design new innovations in HIV/AIDS Prevention on ending AIDS as a Public Health threat;
6. Participate in the review of policies, and strategic documents on HIV Prevention with stakeholders and provide technical advice;
7. Participate in the dissemination of information on the AIDS epidemic and its consequences in Uganda and on the program activities for its control through various channels;
8. Represent the Uganda AIDS Commission (UAC) at sub-national, national, regional, and international meetings that relate to HIV/AIDS prevention and control, including regular participation in Technical Working Groups meetings hosted by other Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) of government;
9. Prepare and provide periodic reports on HIV Prevention activities and programs.

Person Specifications
1. Qualifications
• A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Medicine, Epidemiology, and Social Sciences
• Post-Graduate qualification in Epidemiology and Public Health

Working experience of 7 years in the field of HIV and AIDS
