JOB DETAILS:
The IT Infrastructure Officer will support the installation, deployment, and maintenance of servers, desktops, printers, telephony, and other hardware across both production and DR environments. Additionally, provide timely and efficient user support across networks, desktops, and applications.
Reports to: IT Infrastructure Manager
Purpose of the Role
The IT Infrastructure Officer will also support processes that identify, control, and account for assets throughout their lifecycle, from ‘Receipt’ into the organization to their ultimate ‘Disposal.’
Main Job Responsibilities
• Undertake effective capacity management of all server and storage resources.
• Support the installation, deployment, upgrade, and troubleshooting of servers and storage hardware components, resolving related support issues in a timely and efficient manner to meet or exceed the SLAs agreed with the business.
• Follow the change management process to implement any major infrastructural changes in the live environment.
• Support the delivery of all assigned business and ICT projects and initiatives.
• Carry out fault diagnosis relating to moderately complex problems, reporting the results clearly and concisely.
• Resolve high-level issues by providing mitigating actions and driving the implementation of these actions.
• Support the implementation of Disaster Recovery (DR) and related Business Continuity Management activities.
• Review and support all flagged security breaches and vulnerabilities, ensuring that all servers and storage devices are protected with up-to-date antivirus definitions and other security controls.
• Produce robust documentation and presentation materials for stakeholders at varying levels.
• Document all IT assets in line with BRAC’s standards and track an assets register that matches the physical assets in the business.
• Support the preventive maintenance of all servers and storage devices, ensuring servicing is done per schedule and SLA.
• Respond in a timely and efficient manner to infrastructure-related issues logged onto the ICT helpdesk.
• Carry out any other duties as assigned by the IT Infrastructure Manager.
Required Qualifications and Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in ICT, Computer Science, or a related ICT field.
• Certifications such as ITIL V3 Foundation, CCNA, and A+ are added advantages.
• A project management qualification and experience would also be an added advantage.
• At least three years of experience implementing server builds and storage management in a sizeable organization, providing a functional and serviceable platform for business across multiple hardware and software platforms.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies
• Good knowledge of Windows and Linux Operating systems.
• Strong competencies in managing virtual machines and environments.
• Understanding of principles for managing service levels, system availability, performance metrics, and capacity planning.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity practices and security measures.
• Knowledge of network fundamentals, configuration, troubleshooting, and security practices.
• Experience negotiating and managing third-party service providers/vendor SLAs.
• Knowledge of IT infrastructure library (ITIL 4) processes and procedures.
• Knowledge of IT Asset Management.
• Familiarity with Banking/ICT industry standards and regulations.
• High degree of problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to quickly learn technical concepts and explain complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work in a multidimensional/multicultural setting.
• Decisive with strength of character.
• Ability to remain calm under major pressure/incidents.
• A team player with critical thinking and confidence.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
