Watoto Church and Child Care Ministries have experienced exponential growth in the past couple of years composed of multiple Celebration Centres (Campuses) and diverse Community care initiatives that include Child Care, Community and Neighbourhood, Education and FM Radio, amongst others. In all of this, Watoto remains a local church, committed to celebrating Christ and caring for community.
Watoto Christian International School Utilizes the ACE School of Tomorrow Curriculum.
We are currently seeking to hire a Monitor/Social Studies (SST) Primary School teacher. The Monitor's role is to support Christian education and nurture godly, transformational •leaders by facilitating teaching, learning, skill development, and moral growth of the learners.
Key Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to)
- To facilitate learning by teaching reading skills to enhance the reading ability of all learners in the ABC class.
- To complete the attendance record on the Goal check report and issue corrective action notices and homework assignment slips as needed.
- To prepare and pull tests for next-day tests, new Paces when PACE Tests are passed, file old 'conferenced' Paces and Tests. Prepare congratulation slips for successfully passed PACE Tests
- To keep the scoring station and other areas of the learning centre clear of clutter. To ensure that the learning centre is in order at the end of the day and discreetly remind the supervisor of scheduled activities.
- To coordinate and answer non-academic flag questions and supervise breaks and lunch.
- To check student homework assignment slips, student goals and complete the Goal Check Report for the supervisor.
- To monitor the scoring station, ensure students keep score keys and the station neat. Issue de/merits, listen to monthly scripture memory verses, supervise detention time, and direct student attention to supervisor.
- To observe and ensure that students stay focused on doing their PACE work and report observations to the supervisor.
- To get well conversant with the School Vision, Mission, and Values as the ultimate guiding principles for the organisation.
- To demonstrate good stewardship of resources and property in the school by ensuring the safe custody and optimum use of equipment assigned.
- To promote the general progress and well-being of individual learners and always ensure the safety and welfare of learners.
- To create a learning space where the needs of the learners and teachers are met, respected, and protected.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience.
- The applicant for the role should hold at least a Diploma Primary Education with at least two years' experience in a classroom setting.
- Training in the ACE's supervisor /Monitor training is an added advantage.
- Should be a collaborator, results-oriented, self-motivated, able to work with minimum supervision and for long hours under extreme pressure. Computer literacy.
- Excellent Oral, interpersonal and Written communication skills.
