Position Overview
The SHEQ Assistant will support the SHEQ Coordinator in ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards. This role involves administrative, operational, and compliance tasks to uphold international regulations, ISO standards, and local certifications.
Key Responsibilities
Support and Administration
1. Provide administrative and operational support to the SHEQ Coordinator in maintaining SHEQ programs.
2. Assist in managing and organizing documentation for compliance purposes, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
Training and Inspections
1. Help organize and deliver training sessions for employees on SHEQ procedures in alignment with ISO and FSSC standards.
2. Support in conducting regular safety and quality inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with certifications.
Incident Management
1. Assist in investigating workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses.
2. Contribute to the development and implementation of corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
Supplier and Contractor Compliance
1. Liaise with the procurement team to ensure suppliers and contractors adhere to ISO, FSSC, and local certification requirements.
Data and Reporting
1. Collect, analyze, and report SHEQ performance data for management reviews and continuous improvement efforts.
Regulatory Awareness
1. Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to SHEQ to support ongoing compliance.
Other Duties
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements
Education and Experience
1. A Bachelor's degree in an environment-related course from a recognized institution.
2. At least 2 years of proven work experience.
Skills and Knowledge
1. Familiarity with ISO, FSSC 22000, NEMA, UNBS, and occupational health and safety standards.
2. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
3. Experience in a manufacturing setup is an added advantage.
4. Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills.
5. A proactive, enthusiastic attitude toward work.
6. Strong integrity and teamwork abilities.
